Support2Independence

Wirral-based support and care provider Support2Independence recently became one of the first organisations in the country to undertake assessment for the new standard PD76006 Guide to Learning & Development

The assessment was carried out by Centre For Assessment, with the standard offering guidance and recommendations on approaches for an organisation in relation to planning, supporting and evaluating learning and development.

Support2Independence is a not-for-profit support and care provider with a focus on quality provision and offer a friendly and professional service which always goes the extra mile.  Its senior management team has over 40 years of experience in delivering social care to a wide range of clients in many different support settings.

It provides person centred services across the northwest to adults with a Learning Disability, Mental Health issues or with Acquired Brain Injuries within their own homes or in the community.

Support2Independence is also an accredited specialist provider by the National Autistic Society and deliver specialist bespoke services for adults with Autistic Spectrum conditions including Asperger’s syndrome.

It also designs person centred services around more complex and exceptional people who need services and teams built around their specific needs or disabilities.

The PD76006 assessment demonstrated that Support2Independence is an organisation that fully understands the importance of learning and development of its staff and has taken steps to embed this belief within its operational processes.

Assessor Michael Lynch said: “PD76006 provides a framework for organisations to examine their approach to planning, implementing, sourcing, assessing and evaluating learning and development for staff.

‘The guidance document indicates key areas where an organisation should be mindful of in terms of their approach to supporting learning and development. Having assessed an organisation and trained delegates in line with the framework, there was obvious synergy between the theory and the reality of a business.”
