Last updated: 10th August, 2020

Centre for Assessment's priority continues to be how keep its people and its customers safe.  We continue to follow all governmental guidelines and offer uninterrupted certification and training services to our valued clients.

  • We can now deliver many services at your premises, based on the Risk Assessment controls you have in place and local lockdown restrictions.
  • Many audits and assessments are still being completed remotely, using telephone, Skype, Zoom, MS Teams or any platform that you prefer.
  • Most of our training courses have been moved to virtual platforms, allowing your staff that are working from home to participate

We have developed some new resources to help you prepare for your Back to Work arrangements as lockdown restrictions begin to change.  Our expert coaches have created a Covid-19 Back to Work Risk Assessment Template and accompanying Guidance for the Government's 8 work settings, which are free to download HERE We have also added specific support for the hospitality & leisure sector, as venues start to open their doors this month.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have: we will be happy to help.  We hope that you, your colleagues and your loved ones stay safe and well during this challenging time for us all.

Guidance for new certification clients

Are we taking on new clients?

Yes.  We are taking on new clients and providing our usual audit and assessment services remotely, or at your premises if you have a Covid-19 Risk Assessment in place.  Our Certification Manager has developed new procedures for remote auditing and has fully briefed our team of auditors on what arrangements need to be made to make them work for you.

If you choose to work with Centre for Assessment, we will help you complete your audit/assessment at a time and in a way that best suits you.  Our service will have the usual rigour and quality that makes us the provider of choice for thousands of ISO, EN 1090/14065, Customer Service Excellence, Lexcel, Cyber Essentials and BS 76000/5 clients across the UK and abroad.

How will we help with costs?

Your organisation may be facing financial pressure during these extraordinary times.  Centre for Assessment recognises this and wants to give you the following reassurances.

  • We are still offering highly competitive audit/assessment fees.
  • We will work with you to provide the most flexible payment options we can.
  • If you already have certification and want to transfer to Centre for Assessment, we will do our best to save you money.

For more information on how we can support you during these unprecedented circumstances, get in touch with a member of our Business Development team via email: sales@centreforassessment.co.uk, or phone: 0161 237 4080 and we will be pleased to talk to you.

Guidance for existing certification clients

How has Coronavirus affected our services?

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a high number of telephone and email enquiries.  We aim to respond to your email within five working days and will provide you with the information you need.  There may be a delay with the issue of your report and certificate as well.  We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.  If you have an urgent enquiry about an assessment that is due within the next two weeks, please call our Operations team on 0161 237 4080.

How have we adapted our services?

In line with Government guidance, Centre for Assessment is delivering many audits and assessments remotely.  We are confident that virtual delivery of our services will have limited impact on the quality and robustness you can expect to receive from us.

To discuss the details of how a remote audit or assessment will work in practice or any other matter, please call our Operations team on 0161 237 4080 or email enquiries@centreforassessment.co.uk

What if a remote audit/assessment is not possible?

We recognise that some of our clients will not have the infrastructure, ICT facilities or sufficient continuity of operations to complete activities remotely. If that is the case for you, we may be able to deliver our services at your premises based on the Risk Assessment control measures you have in place and any local lockdown restrictions.

Guidance for Training clients

We have adapted our service delivery to ensure we can provide some courses through virtual platforms. This means your staff can attend training from the comfort of their own home and not be subject to any risk from travelling. Our remote delivery platforms allow us to offer the same inclusive and interactive learning as you would access from attending a face to face session.

Our bespoke training can still be designed to meet your specific needs and delivered remotely at a time to suit you and your organisation, using the latest technology available to create a virtual training room for your staff to participate in.  We are currently offering ISO Implementation and Internal Auditor Training, Food Safety, Fire Safety and First Aid Training Training, Leadership & Management courses (including ILM programmes) and special workshops designed to help you and your organisation get through the Coronavirus crisis.

We are working with our awarding bodies to be able to adapt our methods of assessment to offer remotely for our regulatory accredited courses if you wish to renew a qualification. Regarding the renewal of First Aid qualifications such as Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work, the Health and Safety Executive and Department for Education have released a statement which extends the validity of these types of qualifications by 3 months. This allows any requalification to be postponed until a later date.

If you are unable to access our services remotely, we will work with you to schedule new training provision and reschedule any planned training sessions to a future date.

Please contact a member of the team to discuss your requirements on 0161 237 4080 or email enquiries@centreforassessment.co.uk.

Remote Assessments - Client Feedback

I found the remote assessment just as rewarding as an on-site visit.  Our assessor was a joy to talk to, so positive, continually encouraging and full of positive feedback.  It's given our department a real boost to help us through the next few months.

How else can we help?

Following many requests from our clients, we have engaged the services of specialist Health & Safety Coaches to help you prepare a Covid-19 Back to Work Risk Assessment. A template and guidance document are free to download, and we hope you find them useful in helping protect your people from harm.  Please visit here to find out more.
