Coronavirus: Adapted services to meet your needs
Last updated: 3rd April, 2020

During these extraordinary and unprecedented times, we all have the responsibility to help protect the mental and physical health of everyone around us.  Centre for Assessment's priority is to do everything we can to keep its people and its customers safe.

To minimise disruption to you, we have already taken the following measures.

  • All our staff and assessors are now fully agile, enabling them to provide uninterrupted levels of service.
  • All meetings with clients are now taking place virtually, using either telephone, Skype, Zoom, MS Teams or similar
  • We have successfully moved several of our training courses to virtual platforms, allowing your staff that are working from home to still attend.
  • All audits and assessments are now being completed remotely until further notice.

For the many people having to face financial or medical challenges, we know that these are difficult times. Centre for Assessment would like to reassure all our valued clients – existing and new – that we intend to continue providing our usual high-quality training, assessment and certification services in a flexible, supportive and responsible way.

Guidance for new certification clients

Are we taking on new clients?

We understand that you have many other priorities right now. Keeping your business or organisation going in the face of governmental restrictions is probably the biggest challenge you have ever faced. We will continue to take on new clients and provide the support and help needed in these times of adversity until we are advised otherwise by the Government.

Centre for Assessment will work with you to complete your audit/assessment at a time that best suits you. If you choose to work with us, there will be no pressure on you to complete your audit/assessment within a prescribed period of time.

How will we help with costs?

You may be more aware than ever of the financial pressures that face your organisation during these extraordinary times. Centre for Assessment recognises this and wants to give you the following reassurances.

  • We will not ask for UK-based clients to pay anything in advance.
  • We are still offering highly competitive audit/assessment fees.
  • If you already hold certification to a quality Standard and wish to transfer to Centre for Assessment, contact us to find out how we can save you money.

For more information about the ways in which we can support you during these unprecedented circumstances, just get in touch with a member of our Business Development team via email: or phone: 0161 237 4080.

Guidance for existing certification clients

How are we adapting our services?

In line with Government guidance and with support from UKAS and other bodies, Centre for Assessment will be completing remote audits and assessments until further notice. We hope that this will have limited impact on the quality and robustness of the service you receive from us.

To discuss the details of how a remote audit or assessment will work in practice or any other changes, please call our office on 0161 237 4080 or email

What if a remote audit/assessment is not possible?

We recognise that some of our clients will not have the infrastructure, ICT facilities or sufficient continuity of operations to complete activities remotely. If that is the case for you, please get in touch with us and we will discuss other options for how to maintain your certification.

Guidance for Training clients

We have adapted our service delivery to ensure we can remain fully operational and continue to provide our training solutions to our clients whilst safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our staff, trainers and customers. This means your staff can attend training from the comfort of their own home and not be subject to any risk from travelling. Our remote delivery platforms allow us to offer the same inclusive and interactive learning as you would access from attending a face to face session.

Our bespoke training can still be designed to meet your specific needs and delivered remotely at a time to suit your business, using the latest technology available to create a virtual training room for your staff to participate in.

We are working with our awarding bodies to be able to adapt our methods of assessment to offer remotely for our regulatory accredited courses, whether this be for first time accreditation or if you wish to renew a qualification. With regard to the renewal of First Aid qualifications such as Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work, the Health and Safety Executive and Department for Education have released a statement which extends the validity of these types of qualifications by 3 months. This allows any requalification to be postponed until a later date.

If you are unable to access our services remotely, we will work with you to schedule new training provision and reschedule any planned training sessions to a future date.

Please contact a member of the team to discuss your requirements on 0161 237 4080 or email

Remote Assessments - Client Feedback

I found the remote assessment just as rewarding as an on site visit.  Our assessor was a joy to talk to, so positive, continually encouraging and full of positive feedback.  It's given our department a real boost to help us through the next few months.
