CE Marking for structural steel and aluminium fabricators.
Ensure your firm meets legal requirements
If your company places structural steel or aluminium products into the market, you are legally required to hold the EN 1090 Standard and must CE mark your products. For a highly competitive fee, Centre for Assessment will audit your CE Marking process, leading to EN 1090 certification.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are completing some EN 1090 audits remotely.
The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) requires you to have CE Marking and the penalties of not holding the Standard can be severe. If you are unsure about whether EN1090 is relevant for your business, contact us and we will provide you with some guidance.

Unfortunately, there is currently a degree of confusion and misinformation being circulated on this issue. Below is the situation as it stands at the moment.
For UK customers - there is no change and no need for you to take any action other than continue with your EN 1090 audits to retain certified to the Standard.
For non-UK customers - Centre for Assessment is permitted to continue with our usual excellent value service and issue certificates until the end of the transition period: currently 31st December 2020.
The UK Government has informed Centre for Assessment's management team that they intend to reach a Mutual Recognition Agreement to allow continuation of the service as part of the 'deal' with the EU. If this does happen, we will be able to continue providing EN 1090 audits indefinitely. Once a clear outcome of the negotiations is known, we will share these details with all our customers.
If you are already certified to the BS EN 1090 Standard with another notified body, you should consider transferring your certification to Centre for Assessment. There are many reasons why you might choose to work with us. Do you need a more robust audit? An improved level of service from a UKAS-accredited body? A more affordable fee?
We have vast experience of working with transfer clients, ensuring the necessary audits take place to avoid a gap in your EN 1090 certification. If you're considering a certification transfer to us or would like to do a cost comparison with your current provider, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Simply contact us and a member of our Business Development team will ensure that your transfer process is as smooth as possible.Make an enquiry
To help you prepare for your EN 1090 audit, Centre for Assessment offers a gap analysis service. Spending time with one of our lead auditors for either a full day or half a day will help you evaluate your readiness for your formal audit. The gap analysis will include an action planning session so that you know what improvements need to be made prior to your EN 1090 audit.
Although Centre for Assessment does not offer a consultancy service, we can provide you with a list of independent consultants who will be able to help you implement the requirements of EN 1090.
