ISO 30415 is an international standard that provides guidance for effectively integrating diversity and inclusion into HR Management Systems.

What are some of the benefits?

Strategic Governance & Leadership

The standard outlines clear roles, accountabilities and responsibilities for boards, leaders, HR and stakeholders. Championing inclusive values through policies, culture and decision making is also a key part of the standard.

Comprehensive D&I Framework

The standard sets out guides across every HR lifecycle stage, from recruitment to retention and integrates the inclusive values into all processes.

Building an Inclusive Culture

The standard promotes respect and transparency and aims to make staff feel a sense of belonging in their workplace.

Helps to Measure Progress

Organisations undertaking the standard can track how well they are doing, encouraging improvement and the ability to look back on what has gone well.

Why is it important?

Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace helps to channel different perspectives, which inevitably leads to lots of creative ideas. Therefore, it will come as no surprise to organisations that when staff feel valued and respected, their loyalty to the organisation increases, resulting in staff staying with the same employer to develop their career.

ISO 30415 in the real world:

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) a client of CfA’s, is a national expert body within NHS Wales, delivering digital and data services that underpin health and social care. The body became certified in ISO 30415 in 2023, after transitioning from BS 76005. DHCW recognised the inclusive framework of the standard and how it helped them to embed diversity into recruitment, training and engagement processes, ensuring the workforce respects the communities it serves.

Thus, DCHW would recommend the standard to other organisations seeking to elevate their people and inclusion strategies. They commented on how the standard “offers a structured yet flexible framework that drives meaningful change.”

Their advice? “Treat the process as a strategic opportunity, rather than a compliance exercise. Engage your leadership early, embed the standards into your governance, and use the audit findings as a springboard for continuous improvement.

“It’s more than a badge; it’s a commitment to valuing people and fostering inclusion”.

Is ISO 30415 right for you?
Your staff are the foundation of your business, and their integrity is what keeps the wheels of an organisation spinning. Therefore, if you’re interested in a certified framework that benefits both, then ISO 30415 is for you.

The standard is available to any organisation, of any size. As well as meeting international standards, this standard will help to improve your workplace culture and is perfect for those organisations looking to focus more on diversity and inclusion.
